For those fighting depression, as I have, it helps to look up, and steep yourself in the scripture, claiming your identity in Christ.

Begin to praise God. He says He INHABITS the praises of His people. As your mind is renewed, the scripture says the enemy will flee, and depression will be shattered.

We are given a future and a hope, in I Chronicles. 29:14

He knew us before we were formed, in our mother’s womb. Ps. 139

He gives us joy and gladness and perfect sleep. Ps. 4:7-8

He delights in us. Ps. 18:19

He bends his ear to hear our prayers, Ps. 4:3, 10,11

He is waiting for us to call for deliverance. II Chronicles. 20:9

He loves & draws near to a broken or contrite heart. II Chronicles. 34:27

He is a stronghold for the oppressed in the time of trouble. Ps. 9:9-10

The Lord girds me with strength, . . .and makes my feet like hinds feet on high places. Ps. 18:32-33

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Ps. 23

The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom then shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Ps. 27:1-2

He is with you; do not fear nor be dismayed. I Chronicles 28:20

He delivers us from all our fears. Ps. 34:1-7

His lovingkindness will surround all those who love him. Ps. 33:10-11

Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. Ps. 34:8

The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and he hears their cry. Ps. 34:15-17

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm. Ps. 40:1-3

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Ps. 46:1

He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Ps. 55:22

He has delivered my soul from death, and kept my feet from stumbling. Ps. 56:13

Trust in Him; He is a refuge for us. Ps. 62:8

Whom have I in heaven but thee? My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. Ps. 73:25-26

When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, thy consolations delight my soul. Ps. 94:19

He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction. Ps. 107:35

The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. Ps. 118:14

AND MY FAVORITE VERSE OF ALL: I Corinthians. 2:9 Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for those that love him
